From a lesson to practice

Use Hanzi Guide with your tutor

Bring a character or short phrase from your teacher, language app, or AI tutor. Hear it, watch its strokes, then try writing it yourself.

Make a practice link

Use one to six Hanzi, without spaces or punctuation. For a sentence, practise one short word or group at a time.

Turn a lesson into an exercise

Practise a short phrase

Open 你好 in Mandarin. Listen to the whole phrase, then watch or write each character.

Keep the full sentence from your lesson nearby so you remember the context.

Take it to paper

Generate a worksheet for 你好 with stroke order and tracing boxes. This opens the PDF generator and starts a download.

On the practice page, Practice PDF creates a worksheet for the characters you are working on.

Listening uses voices installed on your device. Cantonese needs a Cantonese voice. Stroke data is available for many common characters; an unavailable character may still have a reading or dictionary entry. Ask your tutor about pronunciation in context, especially characters with multiple readings and tone changes.

Ask your tutor for practice links

Try one of these requests with a teacher or AI assistant. Include this guide so they can follow the link format.

Teach me how to write 你好. Explain the meaning, give me a Hanzi Guide practice link with Mandarin pronunciation and simplified characters, and suggest a short writing exercise.
I’m learning Cantonese with traditional characters. Give me three useful words, each no longer than six Hanzi, with meanings, Jyutping, and a Hanzi Guide practice link. Use https://www.hanzi.guide/tutor/ for the link format.

Check unfamiliar readings and explanations with a trusted teacher or dictionary. An AI assistant may need you to supply the guide link; providing this page does not guarantee that it can operate the interactive controls.
